Materials Kit Pick-up Instructions

  • If you are registered for science night, please pick up your kit on Monday, January 24 or Tuesday, January 25 after school outside the office on El Centro.

  • The kits contain a purple liquid that should be kept in the refrigerator.

  • See the "Supply List" below for additional materials to have on hand.

  • Kits will also be available on a cart outside the AV main office on El Centro.

Supply List

The week of the event, PTA volunteers will distribute kits with some key itmes you will need for these projects. In addition to the kits, please have the following items on-hand at home for your student to use:

  • Pencil

  • 1 disposable cup for bouncy balls

  • 3 cups for testing pH liquids

  • Water

  • Salt

  • Plate or saucer

  • Tape

  • Measuring spoons (1 teaspoon and 1 Tablespoon)

  • Liquids to test for pH (e.g. Lemon juice, other drinks, vinegar, cleaning products, etc. )

  • Food coloring (optional)

Thursday, January 27

  • 5:30 PM - Presenters and volunteers meet on zoom

  • 6:00 PM - Students arrive

  • 6:00 PM - Candy Chromatography w/ Brooke Versaw

  • 6:30 PM - Cabbage Juice Indicators w/ Jake Evans

  • 7:00 PM - Polymer Bouncy Balls w/ Jordan Thompson

  • 7:30 PM - Event Wrap-up
